Roster of Banes

Banes are the spiritual minions of the Wyrm, more numerous than fomori or Black Spiral Dancers. Although they feed on dark and corrupt energies and may spread them as well, they may not necessarily be the cause. Those that materialize in the physical world will often cause a Delirium effect in mundane humans due to the horrifying shapes they take.

Nexus Crawler: Among the most powerful of the Wyrm’s minions, you are in serious trouble if you run afoul of one of these. Their mere presence corrodes and decays reality. Humans will run in terror, and even Garou might as well (roll Willpower against a fox frenzy). Like a dark force of nature, they do not bother with reasonable combat tactics; their Warp Reality Charm can alter the environment around them or turn your bones to jelly.
Psychomachiae
Psychomachiae: Spirits of fear, terror and horror, they seek out individuals depraved enough to be pushed over the edge, either through whispers of Corruption or outright Possession. In the Umbra, or when forced to Materialize, their manifestations are decked out in vicious razors, fangs, scalpels, clamps and other instruments of pain.
Ghoul2
Scrag: It’s said that the Wyrm has spawned many races of warrior Banes, and the Scrags are manifestations of unrestrained rage and murder. Ghoulish spirits with razor-sharp claws and fangs, they often slouch or take to all fours as they move. They may run in packs in the Umbra seeking mayhem and bloodshed, as they are not known as expert corrupters. Scrags can only manifest physically through Possession; the process takes 48 hours, but if not stopped, the host transforms to match the spiritual appearance of a Scrag for as long as the Bane cares to use it.
Furmling2
Furmling: One of the four types of Wyrm elementals, Gafflings (weakest manifestations) of the Elemental Wyrms. Tainted representations of the four elements, Furmlings represent Balefire. Like other Wyrm elementals, they tend to seek safety in numbers around Blights, Hellholes and other Umbral zones that provide succor to the forces of the Wyrm. Furmlings are sickly luminous blobs of napalm-like gel. They glow with flickering, irradiated light, and dart about like fireflies.
Wakshaani2
Wakshaani: Another of the four Wyrm elemental types, Wakshaani represent Toxins. Like purplish sheets of blotchy, veined, warty slime, they can rear up and wash over their prey. Other Wyrm elementals include Hoglings (Smog) and H’Rugglings (Sludge).

Skull Pigs: Technically not Banes, but monsters that exist in the “real” world, Skull Pigs are scavengers and carrion feeders who benefit in particular from consuming human bones. Wyrm-tainted bones may grant the pigs a malevolent intelligence to go with the taint. Although they are known for attacking Garou, humans seem to often ignore them or assume they saw a ‘normal’ animal of some sort, indicating that perhaps they survive in part due to an effect like the Garou’s own Delirium.
Thunderwyrm.jpg
Thunderwyrm: Another Wyrmish monstrosity from the physical realm, Thunderwyrms were first born from the nuclear fires of the Trinity test site, if you believe the Uktena. Their numbers seem to be growing as if in response to the pending Apocalypse. The least of them might be as big as a man, but more often the Garou find them to be far more immense. Burrowing through the ground like earthworms, they leave little obvious (that is, mundane) trace of their presence, but their Wyrm-tainted trail can be clear enough to Garou who sniff one out.
dreambane.jpg
Dream Bane: Minions of the Wyrm that have corrupted many facets of the Dream Zone, these Banes twist and darken dreams, building negative emotions in dreamers, starting the process of corruption for many. They often appear as weapons, capable of inflicting extreme violence upon Phantasms — protectors of the Dream Zone, which often appear as villains or monsters themselves, helping dreamers to let out their negative energy. Dream Banes subvert the sinister-seeming but positive work of the Phantasms, corrupting dreams and ultimately may possess their victims.
